Ink & Enchantment Author Event24 October 2026

Competition terms & privacy

Version 2026-10-21

These terms apply to the competition Crescent Chapters runs at the Ink & Enchantment Author Event on 24 October 2026. By entering, you accept them.

Who runs it

The competition is organised by Archivistry B.V., trading as Crescent Chapters. Questions about the competition go to team@crescentchapters.com.

How to enter

Entry is free and needs no purchase. Answer the question “Your hottest take about reading” on this page (up to 500 characters), give your email address and accept these terms.

You can enter during and after the event until 25 October 2026 at 23:59 (Belgian time). Entries received later are not accepted. One entry per person: a second entry with the same email address is refused, and we may disqualify several entries made by one person under different addresses.

Your answer must be your own and must not be offensive, unlawful or infringe anyone’s rights. We may disqualify entries that are.

Who can enter

You must be 18 or over, or have a parent’s or guardian’s permission to enter. Crescent Chapters staff and the members of the jury cannot take part. [To be confirmed]

How the winner is chosen

This is a creative competition, not a game of chance. A jury of the Crescent Chapters team reads every valid entry and chooses the winner on originality, wit and how much it makes us want to argue back. Nobody is selected at random.

If entries tie, the jury breaks the tie on the same criteria. The jury’s decision is final. We may choose more than one winner if the jury cannot separate the best entries.

The prize

The winner receives a Crescent Chapters box set. There is no cash alternative and the prize cannot be exchanged or transferred. If it becomes unavailable, we will offer a prize of similar value.

We ship the prize free of charge to an address in the European Union, or you can collect it from us by arrangement.

Results

We email the winner by 30 October 2026, and let everyone else who entered know the result by email too. The winner must reply within 14 days with a delivery address (or to arrange collection). If they don’t, the jury chooses the next-best entry on the same criteria.

We don’t publish entries. We would only quote the winning answer, for example on our Instagram or TikTok, after asking the winner and only with their permission.

General

We may cancel or change the competition if something outside our control makes it necessary, and will say so on this page. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer law. Belgian law applies.

Privacy

Who is responsible. Archivistry B.V., trading as Crescent Chapters, is the controller of the personal data you give us here. Contact: team@crescentchapters.com.

What we collect. Your answer, your email address, your consent choices (the exact wording you saw and what you ticked), the times you entered and accepted the terms, and the type of browser you used. We do not store your IP address.

Why, and on what basis. To run the competition: to record your entry, send you a copy of it, judge it and email you the result. This is necessary to perform the competition you entered under these terms. Only if you ticked the newsletter box do we also add you to the Crescent Chapters newsletter, on the basis of your consent; ticking it is optional and has no effect on the competition.

How long. We delete competition data within 3 months after the winner is announced. If you subscribed to the newsletter, we keep your email address for it until you unsubscribe.

Who processes it for us. Cloudflare hosts this website, stores the entries in a database located in the European Union and delivers our emails. If you subscribed, our newsletter provider sends the newsletter. We don’t sell your data or share it with anyone else.

Your rights. You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to its use, or ask for a copy, by emailing team@crescentchapters.com. You can withdraw your newsletter consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every newsletter or by emailing us; this does not affect the competition. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
